I'm so excited to announce my latest collaboration with Dream Designer Liz Kalloch--a series of workshops to get you off and running on your own indie publishing adventures.
We're gathering at the Create Explore Discover Retreat at the gorgeous Cedar House Sport Hotel near Lake Tahoe.
After 6 major releases in the last 9 months, we're bringing all our best moves and lessons learned to the table to provide the information and wisdom you need to offer your own unique projects and gifts to the world.

Indie Publishing with Liz Kalloch and Jen Lee
The Indie Publishing Workshops are a series of three individual courses. Register for one, two, or all three!
Indie Publishing 101: Taming the Idea Zoo
Learn how to get into action and stay in action in this essential workshop that traces the process from rough idea to working concept. Discover how to decide which ideas are worth making and bridge the gap between a some-day dream and a final product. Together we will examine what holds us back, what drives us, and troubleshoot difficult moments along the way. Whether your ideas are running you around, or you’re still on the hunt for them, you won’t want to miss this conversation that will help you to begin: this time, and the next. And the next.
Bring your favorite writing tool(s), a journal or notebook, and your musings and ideas. Liz and Jen will provide the rest.

Indie Publishing 102: Ready for Press
Now that you have your great idea in hand, Liz and Jen discuss how to make it. Together we will cover:
- how to fine-tune your concept
- how to shape content
- how to curate, edit and layout your project
- how to work with a printer
- how to build a project timeline
- how to meet your deadline
Stop beating your head against the wall and come join us for a cozy and demystifying conversation.
{This workshop will not cover software applications.}
Bring your favorite writing tool(s), a journal or notebook, and your musings and ideas. Liz and Jen will provide the rest.

Indie Publishing 103: Collaborative Magic
In this fun story-based workshop, Liz and Jen let you in on a little secret: do-it-yourself doesn’t have to mean do-it-alone. Whether you know it or not, community is your greatest resource. We'll talk collaboration and friendship, how to find your right people and make space for the relationships that fuel and feed us.
Liz and Jen will share stories from their individual journeys, their partnership together, and all they've learned along the way. It's play time ALL the time if you have even one friend to work and play with, and you can play forever.

About the Instructors
Liz Kalloch is a painter, a jewelry designer and a singer. All of her creative experiences pour out of her rich history of travel, adventure, self-discovery and love. Liz brings the dreams of other artists to life with her just-right designs and intuitive sensibility. Her design clients have included: Mary Anne Radmacher, DEMDACO, Kelly Rae Roberts, Brush Dance, Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, and Thames & Hudson Publishers.
Jen Lee is an independent media producer and a performer in NYC’s storytelling scene, including the Peabody Award winning Moth Radio Hour. Since her first self-published book, Don’t Write: A Reluctant Journal, premiered in 2008, Jen has produced a range of audio and print projects. Her offerings have now expanded to fill an entire catalog, including retreat kits, home study courses, books and accessories. From podcast to apparel design, Jen has learned that Doing It Yourself means not having to wait for someone else’s permission or approval.
Together Jen and Liz have given birth to Jen Lee Productions, a power house of independent publishing that now produces multi-media resources for other artists, including Jolie Guillebeau and Liz Lamoreux. Their collaborative projects have included custom work books, multiple CDs, books, journals, portable galleries and more. Their approach seeks to return us to vintage values that remain essential: real-life friendship and the pleasure of exquisite artifacts for soulful living.
